Overview
The BYD Seal 5 DM-i expands BYD’s new energy vehicle lineup in Thailand as a sleek plug-in hybrid saloon. It is the second DM-i hybrid model sold in the market and the fourth BYD model to be locally assembled at BYD’s Rayong plant in Thailand.
Built around BYD’s proprietary DM-i 4.0 platform, the Seal 5 DM-i uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a powerful electric motor to deliver smooth acceleration, low fuel consumption and flexible EV-only driving for everyday use.

Vehicle-to-load function on higher variant
The Seal 5 DM-i combines a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine rated at 97 hp and 122 Nm with a powerful electric motor rated at 194 hp.
Together, the system delivers a combined output of 215 hp and 300 Nm, allowing the saloon to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
The Essential variant uses a 13.08-kWh LFP Blade Battery offering up to 80 km of EV-only range on NEDC standards.
The Dynamic variant gets a larger 18.3-kWh battery pack with up to 120 km of pure electric range, giving users more freedom for city driving.
Inside, the Seal 5 DM-i offers a premium digital cabin with a 12.8-inch central infotainment screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.
Higher-spec features include powered front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, NFC key card, wireless charging and an 8-speaker audio system.
